Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney hailed Wycombe Wanderers as a ‘beautiful organisation’ following their rapid response to a fan who was taken ill.
Wrexham’s League One clash away to Wycombe was suspended for 30 minutes in the second half due to a medical emergency in the away end.

Both teams were taken off the pitch and returned to the dressing room as medical staff dealt with the situation.
Wrexham have since confirmed the fan was ‘breathing, conscious and in a stable condition’ when they were taken from the stadium to hospital, where they are now recovering.
The Welsh side added in a statement: “We would also like to place on record our thanks to the medics and staff for their swift actions, and to all at Wycombe Wanderers for their response to the incident and for their clear communications throughout.”
McElhenney has now paid tribute to all who rushed to the Wrexham supporter’s aid.
“As more information comes to light, it’s becoming even more apparent that our supporters, Wycombe staff and Wycombe supporters worked together to save someone’s life,” McElhenney wrote on X.
“We cannot thank you enough @wwfcofficial, what a brilliant show of humanity.
“You are a beautiful organisation.”
After the fan was transported to hospital, Wycombe and Wrexham’s players were given ten minutes to warm up before play resumed with 76:25 on the clock.
The game restarted at 5:22pm with the score 0-0.
But it didn’t take long for the deadlock to be broken following the resumption.

Wrexham’s club-record signing Sam Smith popped up in the 78th minute with a left-footed volley inside the box to put the visitors in front.
Smith’s goal was his third since joining the Welsh side for £2million from fellow League One rivals Reading in the January window.
Sadly for the hosts they could not find an equaliser as Wrexham picked up their 21st league win of the season.
Crucially, the win helped Phil Parkinson’s side leapfrog the Chairboys into second place on the League One table with nine games to go.
Wrexham now have 71 points, three more than third-placed Wycombe and are five points clear of fourth-placed Charlton Athletic.
However, Wycombe can wrestle back second place from Wrexham on Tuesday when they travel to Rotherham United.
