Britain’s first and only Power Slap athlete, Darren Godfrey, Jr has put the middleweight division on notice.
The Shrewsbury slapper moved to 3-0 on Thursday night by knocking out Ke’ali’i Kanekoa with a monstrous blow.

Kanekoa won the coin toss and so slapped first.
The shot appeared to stagger Godfrey Jr slightly but he wore it well and came back with vengeance.
Lining up his attack with his right hand, Godfrey Jr uncorked a massive slap that shut his opponent’s light off.
Kanekoa’s head bounced off the table on the way down as the referee stepped in and waved off the contest with the Hawaiian left lying motionless on his back.
In the immediate aftermath, a pumped-up Godfrey Jr said: “All I can say is, don’t ever bet against me.
“Listen, the power I generate is absolutely unbelievable.
“I’ve always been able to put this sort of power out.
“I knew this was my sport, I’ve been through a few different sports in my life and it’s not worked out.
“I will be the next champion in the middleweight division, trust me.”
But underneath all the jubilance, there was a sombre note.

“At this moment in time, I want to say one thing,” Godfrey Jr added.
“My dad lost a best friend in the last couple of days.
“His name is Jason King, I want to dedicate this fight to him. Rest in peace.”
Godfrey Jr made a name for himself on the British bare-knuckle boxing circuit.
He won his first two fights and became a pit fighting champion before suffering a five-fight skid.
‘The Tarantula’ has since transitioned to slap fighting where he has enjoyed a more fruitful career.
