2024 Buganda Kingdom sports entities gala:
- Winner: Buganda Land Board (291.50 points)
- Runners up: Namulondo Investments (289.15 points)
- 2nd Runners up: Lubiri High Buloba (274.15 points)
Buganda Land Board emerged as the winner of the annual Buganda Kingdom entities sports gala.
The sports gala that took place on Saturday, 30th November 2024 in Lubiri, Mengo – Kampala.
This engagement brought together all Kingdom companies to compete for the coveted title of “champions”.
Buganda Land Board, having earned the most points (291.50 points) in the games competed in, was announced the winner, beating all its competition.
Namulondo Investments finished second with 289.15 points while Lubiri High Buloba was third with 274.15 points.
Mweso, Ludo, Athletics, football, netball, volleyball, balloon burst, balloon toss for CEOs, bottle filling race, dizzy penalty challenge, CEO penalty challenge, egg race, sack team race, tug of war were the games the teams competed in.
The Katikkiro of Buganda Oweek. Charles Peter Mayiga was chief guest.
Oweek. Mayiga handled over the champions trophy to Buganda Land Board and lauded them for ably competing and emerging as champions.
He emphasized that the goal of the competition is to bring together all Kingdom employees in different sectors so that they know each other and build togetherness.
He therefore thanked all those who took part in the games.
Buganda Kingdom’s sports, youth and arts minister Oweek. Robert Serwanga Ssalongo and Oweek.Cotilda Nakate were also in attendance.
This year’s games were organized by CBS fm.
Next year’s games will be organized by Muteesa I Royal University.
