The knockout stage for the prestigious 2024 Buganda Masaza football tournament is here.
There are eight teams that remain standing in this championship after the grueling group stages where 18 teams were involved.
Virtually, it is this stage of the real men being sieved from the boys.
Kyadondo against Buddu last season. This year, Kyaddondo faces Busujju in the quarter final; as Buddu takes on Kabula in the 2024 quarter finals
Quarter final duels:
Former winner Kyadondo face the season’s revelation Busujju in one quarter final match.
Two-time champions Buddu will tussle against Kabula as three-time winners Mawokota will square up against Buwekula.
Another former champion Ssingo shall take on Kyaggwe in the last quarter final match.
The quarter finals will be played on a two-legged basis with the aggregate winner progressing to the semi-finals.
The first legs for the four matches will come on Sunday, 22nd September 2024.
At Homesdallen primary school playground in Gayaza, Kyadondo hosts Busujju first.
Kabula under Eric Kisuze will play-host to Buddu at the Bakijulula playground.
Mawokota Ssaza Football team
Mawokota takes on Buwekula at Buwama playground in the first leg whilst Kyaggwe will host Ssingo at Mukono Bishop playground during the opening leg.
The return legs will come a week later on Sunday, 29th September 2024 at Kitovu Arena, Mubende NTC, Mityana Ssaza ground and Kakindu playground.
There is a lot to play for in these eight matches of the quarter finals. As expected, there will be mind games, detailed tactical thesis from the respective technical dockets, determined play from the players and wild cheering from the fans in a bid to have the four semi-finalists.
A new champion awaits to be crowned following the early elimination of the 2023 winners Bulemeezi who failed to make it past the group stages.

This tournament is famed for drawing crowds and the attention of area leaders and other politicians as they rally their different teams.
Players who have been elevated to the FUFA Big League, Uganda Premier League and senior national team status are barred from taking part.
Gomba remains the record winners with 5 unprecedented titles to their name.
