BUL FC needed a stoppage-time winner to edge Lugazi FC as the two teams faced off in Najjembe on Friday.

Isaac Wagoina who had given BUL FC the lead in the first half came through with the winning goal at the death.

The former Express FC striker fired BUL FC into the lead in the 22nd minute capitalizing on a defensive mistake by Lugazi FC defender Richard Ayiko.

Ayiko failed to clear Ibrahim Orit’s cross and only gifted the ball to Wagoina to tucked home from close range.

Lugazi FC were however able to level matters in the 37th minute through Abdul Kalanzi’s free kick.

Goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa should have done better but failed to stop Kalanzi’s dropping strike from a free kick.

With three minutes added after normal time, BUL FC earned a free kick in the second minute and this was taken by Jerome Kirya.

His delivery at the far post was headed into Wagoina’s path and the latter was able to poke the ball beyond goalkeeper Fahad Emuran.

Victory takes BUL FC to seventh place on 19 points while Lugazi FC stay in 13th place with as many points.
