BUL football Club recorded a 2-0 victory on the road over Express during match day 16 of the 2024-2025 Uganda Premier League at the Hamz Stadium on the evening of Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
Uganda U-20 captain Richard Okello and Pascal Ngobi were on target for BUL in the flood-lit match.
BUL commenced the game with intent; Hilary Onek testing Express goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa on the near post.
On seven minutes, Express skipper Saidi Kyeyune chipped a free-kick into a crowded BUL goal area but fefender Benon Tahomera cleared off to safety
Moments later, it was the turn for BUL captain George Kasonko whose shot flew high and above the Express goal posts.

Kyeyune delivered another freekick in the 13th minute but goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa reacted faster off the line to thwart the danger
On the quarter hour mark, Okello lit up the match with a brushed header off Nicholas Mwere’s delivery from the left flank for the lead.
Express missed the opportunity to equalize the game when January signing Muhammed Senoga Kagawa tapped a weak ball straight to the goalkeeper Mutakubwa from close range in the 21st minute.
Okello had a shot off target in the 27th minute before Express had a forced change when Sam Ssenyonjo limped out for Conrad Ssenjogera
A great through ball by BUL captain Kasonko found Martin Aprem all alone but the fast paced winger was denied by goalie Kalyowa in a one against one situation.
BUL made it two with a decent finish by midfielder Pascal Ngobi who finished inside the goal area after a well laid ball by Aprem.

As the first half neared its climax, Bul defender Benon Tahomera slid to block a shot from Ssenoga inside the goal area as the opening stanza ended with the visiting leading 2-0.
Upon resumption of the second half; Express called for a double change.
Goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa was rested for Michael Kagiri and left footed teenager John Assimwe was also introduced for Geofrey Ggaganga.
Steven Timothy Ssenfuma replaced a tired Kagawa after the hour mark for Express and Dickson Matama came on for veteran forward Karim Ndugwa.
In the 67th minute, BUL Captain Kasonko received a knock and was taken out for medication, only to return moments later.
BUL injected in more fresh legs with youngster Reagan Kalyowa replacing Swabiri Mpasa inside the final 20 minutes.
Express captain Alex Emmanuel Wasswa was booked after fouling teenager Kalyowa in an off ball incident.
Express debuted another January signing Jimmy Lagoro in the final 10 minutes of the game.
The Kings College Budo player replaced Daniel Shabena.
Lagoro had a couple of decent touches on the ball with an opportunity to shot before colliding with Basangwa.
BUL makes a double change. Isaac Musiima and Viane Ssekajugo come on for Martin Aprem and Richard Okello respectively as the fourth official Solomon Jjumba indicated the four added minutes.
