Vipers co-head coach John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda has revealed that Milton Karisa will be out for two months which automatically rules him out of the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) finals.

The Venoms skipper limped off in the first half of his side’s 1-0 win over Maroons at Kitende on Monday but was included in Paul Put’s 36-man provisional squad for the tournament that kicks off on February 1st until 28th.

Speaking to the club website ahead of Vipers Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 64 match away to Tepa FC in Ngora on Friday January 10, Ayala revealed; “Skipper Milton Karisa will be out for two months after suffering a muscle issue (partial tear of the quadriceps femoris muscle) in our last League game against Maroons FC.”

With Denis Omedi and Hakim Kiwanuka also likely to drop off in case their move to APR is complete, Uganda will miss three key players.

KCCA’s Usama Arafat Kizza has been added to the squad which starts training on Friday January 10 at Prisons Grounds, Luzira.
