Chelsea head into Tuesday night looking to get back to winning ways in the league having not won any of their last four matches in the Premier League.

The current winless league run has seen Enzo Maresca’s side drop into fourth place, where they’re now four points behind both Arsenal and Nottingham Forest above them and 10 points behind the league leaders Liverpool, who also have a game in hand.

The Blues did manage to get back to winning ways on Saturday afternoon though with a comfortable 5-0 win over a Morecambe side second bottom of League Two in the third round of the FA Cup.

The west London side will head into the week looking to close the gap on the teams above them but also lengthen the distance between themselves and top four’s chasing pack, with Newcastle lying in wait just a point below them.

Another of the chasing back are Bournemouth, who are enjoying a fantastic season, exceeding all expectations as they head into the midway point in January as high as seventh in the Premier League table and within three points of Chelsea and the top four.

Andoni Iraola’s side are currently on a nine-match unbeaten run, made up of six wins, including victories in each of their last two matches, dealing the final blow on Sean Dyche’s tenure as Everton, before thrashing Championship play-off hopefuls West Brom 5-1 in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

The Cherries are winless in their last six matches against the Blues, which includes defeat in four of their last five, while Maresca boasts a 2-0 head-to-head lead over Iraola from their previous managerial meetings, including a 1-0 win on Dorset back in September.
