Chelsea took one large step into the Conference League semi finals last week with a 3-0 win in Poland courtesy of a Tarique George goal which preceded a Noni Madueke brace to take back to Stamford Bridge for Thursday night’s home second leg.

Enzo Maresca’s side head into Thursday’s bout with a four match unbeaten run having come back from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Ipswich on Saturday afternoon, though the result did see the Blues drop out of the Champions League places.

Chelsea have lost only one of their last 22 matches at Stamford Bridge, and have won six of their last seven on their home patch.

Should the west London side progress, as expected, to the semi finals of the Conference League, they will meet one of Swedish side Djurgardens or Austria side Austria Vienna, the latter taking a 1-0 advantage into their home second leg.

Legia Warsaw make the trip to the English capital looking to do what no team has done in over three years and win by at least three goals away at Chelsea.

Goncalo Feio’s side head into the match off the back of back to back home defeats after falling to a 1-0 draw against Jagiellonia on Sunday night, leaving them fifth in the table and 11 points off their opponents on the weekend who occupy the third and final European spot.

The Polish side have won their last two away matches though, scoring seven goals across each of them, so will have their tails up ahead of what has scope to be a momentous night in the club’s history.

The Militarians have reached the last four of a European competition on two previous occasions, most recently in the Cup Winners’ Cup 34 years ago, when they were knocked out by Manchester United, as well as the European Cup in 1970.
