Last year, it was Rashee Rice making off the field news in the wrong way.
This offseason, Andy Reid‘s Kansas City Chiefs are suddenly dealing with another potential off-the-field issue at the wide receiver position.

Xavier Worthy, who set a rookie record in Super Bowl LIX, has reportedly been arrested outside of Austin, Texas.
“Former Texas star WR and Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy was arrested Friday Night in Williamson County, TX,” Fox 26’s Will Kunkel tweeted.
“Charges: Criminal charge of assault against a family or household member by impeding their breathing or circulation.”
Worthy, 21, was the No. 28 overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.
He set an NFL Combine record in the 40-yard dash and finished his rookie season with 59 catches, 638 yards and six touchdowns.
Worthy was even bigger in the playoffs, catching 19 balls for 287 yards and three TDs.
During the Chiefs’ 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, Worthy was one of Kansas City’s few bright spots with 157 yards.
Travis Kelce is set to return this season but he might only have one year left in the NFL.
Worthy is set up to be Mahomes’ primary receiver in 2025 and showed Pro Bowl potential.
Mahomes tweeted his excitement when the young receiver joined the team last season.

And Worthy appeared to be a perfect fit when he joined the Chiefs in 2024.
“Man, I’m coming with the mentality to work hard and earn my spot in the locker room,” Worthy said.
“I feel like I’m a complete receiver. I can run the whole route tree, disciplined, smart, know the game very well, so I feel like I’m bringing a complete receiver to Kansas City.”
Rice was limited to just four games and 24 catches for the Chiefs last year.
Rice’s long-term NFL future is still uncertain after he faced eight counts during the 2024 offseason, including aggravated assault, stemming from a street-racing collision.
