The Manchester leg of their press tour ended in absolute chaos, with Eubank Jr sparking a mass ruckus by smashing an egg across his opponent’s face.

During the melee which was separated by security, British boxing icon and Benn’s father Nigel escaped and put his hand around Eubank Jr’s throat.

He was clearly infuriated by the act of violence which saw concerns raised over potential chaos unfolding again.

The fighters were brought together on stage in London at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where verbal insults were once again flying between the two camps.

Eubank Jr decided to bring up the incident between himself and Nigel, and during which he issued a violent threat.

He said: “I understand the frustration and the heat you were experiencing after I egged Conor.

“But you did put your hand around my neck, so I’m going to give you a pass.

“But I’m just letting you know, if my hand ever touches you again you won’t get it back.”

It was the first time that real anger came out on stage, as Conor furiously shouted: “Shut your f****** mouth.

“Oi silly b******s, shut your f****** mouth. Silly b*****s, threaten my dad again see what happens.”

Nigel interjected classily calming down his son and even issued an apology.

He said: “Listen Con, I can handle this. I’m old school. I’m really sorry I done that but you put your hand on my son.”

Conor then had the final words on the incident, shouting: “Your dad doesn’t like you, shut your mouth. You’re just jealous.”

It is unclear if Eubank Sr will appear at any of the media events, but he has suggested on his social media that he will be there to support his son in his corner.

Nigel is clearly heavily involved in the latest episode of the families’ rivalry, which first began when he met Eubank Jr’s father in their two blockbuster clashes in 1990 and 1993.

Tensions were able to be kept to a minimum this time with the pair separated by a larger gap, and almost a member of security per person involved.

They even were brought together on the pitch, but again were separated by a human fence of security.

Eubank Jr nonetheless was certainly in the mood to cause chaos on stage.

And he burst into a furious rant about his opponent, explaining why he brought out the egg at their opening face-off.

He added: “Did I cross the line? During the last two-and-a-half years of this process I think many lines have been crossed.

“I’m sitting up here today on a stage with two of the scummiest characters in boxing in my opinion – a drug cheat and a man who did everything in his power to help him get away with it.

“So, me throwing an egg at somebody who absurdly claims that they failed two drugs tests due to contaminated eggs.

“I think that’s deserved, I think he deserved the embarrassment of what happened. If I had an opportunity to do it again, I would.”

Eubank Jr could indeed face punishment for the act with the egg, an incident which is being investigated by the British Boxing Board of Control.

For now tensions will be cooled until fight week, but more chaos will be expected at the end of April.
