Chris Eubank Jr may be forced to part with even more money for his now-infamous egg slap, pending an appeal hearing in June.
‘Next Gen’ made the back page of every British tabloid in the country in February when he struck Conor Benn in the face with an egg at the launch press conference for their April 26 grudge match.

He was subsequently fined £100,000 by the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) for his actions – a sanction that Eubank Jr and his handlers felt was excessive.
As a result, an appeal was lodged, but if Eubank Jr loses, he could be forced to cough up more dough, according to the General Secretary of the BBBofC, Robert Smith.
“There will be an appeal taking place,” Smith told talkSPORT’s talkBOXING podcast.
“So that fine could be reduced, or it could be increased.
“It goes in front of a completely independent [panel of] appeal stewards.
“Although they’re the BBBofC appeal stewards, they’re not the Board.
“[The hearing is in] June. [The appeal stewards] will make a decision there, [based] on Mr. Eubank’s argument that the fine was too heavy.
“I believe that the fine was about right, it’s a very serious matter.
“There’s ramifications for the whole show, not just their fight, but every fight.
“If anybody else gets injured… but forget the egg bit, if that happened on the street, Eubank Jr could go in for assault…

“Ultimately, it is means-tested. The money goes to the board’s charity.
“It’s in the board rules, boxers and boxing license holders should know it goes to a charity.
“We look after boxers who have come over a hard time, and it goes towards medical research and seminars.”
The decision to break an egg on Benn’s face stemmed from the collapse of their originally scheduled fight date.
Both men were set to meet at the O2 Arena in London back in October 2022.
However, the event was pulled after Benn tested positive for the banned substance clomifene in two pre-fight drug tests.

The WBC subsequently launched an independent investigation into how the female fertility drug got into Benn’s system.
They concluded that it could have been due to excessive egg consumption.
The National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP) then cleared Benn of all wrongdoing last November, and he is now set to resume his career against Eubank Jr.
