Nick Chubb can’t catch a break.

The Cleveland Browns running back and franchise favorite broke his foot in the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski announced after the game, with a somber tone that Chubb would be out for the rest of the season.

This comes after Chubb had recently returned from the horrific and gruesome leg injury he had suffered last year in Week 2, that kept him out of the first six games this season.

Chubb is the heart and soul of the franchise, so to see him go down again after such an intense rehab is extremely disheartening.

“I can’t tell you how much I respect him as a person, what he means to this football team,” Stefanski said.

“So, really, really disappointed about this injury. Does not change the fact that he continues to inspire this football team with how he approaches every single day.

“And I know this is another obstacle that he will overcome.”

In Chubb’s eight games, he rushed for 332 yards and had three rushing touchdowns to go along with a receiving touchdown.

The franchise great is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the season ends, but has made it clear he wants to finish his career with the team who drafted him with the 35th pick in the 2018 draft.

Since he was drafted, Chubb has made four Pro Bowls and a second-team All-Pro honors.

He ranks third all-time in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns in Cleveland Browns history, behind only Jim Brown and Leroy Kelly.

Cleveland’s front office will now have a decision to make whether or not they want to bring Chubb back.

He turns 29 at the end of the month, and will now be coming off consecutive season-ending injuries.

It’s more likely than not Chubb has played his final snap as a Cleveland Brown.

Sitting at 3-11, it has been a disastrous season for Stefanski and the Browns.

They lost starting quarterback Deshaun Watson to a torn Achilles in October, and now head into next season with a lot more questions than answers.

They currently own the seventh pick in the draft.

The Browns remaining three games are at Cincinnati, at home versus Miami, then finishing the season at Baltimore.

It has been a season from hell for Browns fans.

A season that they are all too familiar with.

And now their franchise great may have just played in his final game.

When it rains it pours, and for Cleveland, it’s been raining for quite a while now.

There are no sunny days in sight.
