Colby Covington has announced a surprising career change might be in the offing once he is finished fighting in the UFC.
Covington is on a poor run of form in the UFC, having picked up just one victory in Dana White‘s promotion since 2022.

His last outing at UFC Tampa in December was a poor showing, as he was finished in the third round by Joaquin Buckley.
Before that, Covington was dominated by Leon Edwards in December 2023 on his return to MMA, which followed his last victory in March 2022 against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272.
Now, at the age of 36, ‘Chaos’ may only have one or two more UFC fights left in him, but he already seems to know what his next combat sports venture will be.
“I would say like two years,” Covington said, answering fan questions on when his time will come to transition to WWE.
“I want to really start working on my in-ring wrestling and my crowd pleasing ability in the next year or two,” he added.
“Maybe I’ll go up to Orlando to go to the WWE training center, but I want to really start perfecting my craft in the WWE and the wrestling moves.
“And hopefully I can make a transition in the next year or two.”
Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey are arguably the two most recognised ex-UFC stars who went on to have a very successful career in WWE.
Lesnar is a seven-time WWE Champion, having held the belt before his UFC career, as well as after it.
Rousey, meanwhile, transitioned to WWE after becoming the most popular female UFC fighter and clearing out the bantamweight division.

She still holds the record for the most consecutive title defences in UFC women’s bantamweight history, having defended the belt six times between 2013 and 2015.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez also made the transition, fighting Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Crown Jewel in October 2019.
Current WWE star CM Punk once went the opposite way, but his UFC career was short lived after he was dominated by Mickey Gall on his debut with the promotion in 2016.
YouTuber-turned-WWE wrestler Paul is one of the promotion’s biggest stars at the minute.
After making his professional boxing debut against KSI, and fighting Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout, Paul made his WWE debut in 2021.
He has since gone on to claim the promotion’s United States Championship, and entered the 2025 Royal Rumble as the 30th entrant, eliminating Punk and AJ Styles before getting thrown over the ropes by John Cena.
