Uganda Cranes will have to wait until the next international break to confirm their place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals despite win over South Sudan in Juba.
This follows Congo’s draw with South Africa in Brazzaville on Tuesday evening.
The result means Uganda stay top of Group K with 10 points, two better than South Africa who are in second position while Congo are now on four points.
Paul Put’s charges need a point to confirm their presence in Morocco come December next year in fixtures at home to South Africa and away to Congo in November.
They can still qualify without any more points if Congo falter in the fixture away to South Sudan before they host Uganda in the final group game.
Uganda are looking to return to the Afcon finals for only the seventh time and first since 2019 in Egypt.
