Corporate Sports Network: More companies, new games for 2nd season

The second season of the Corporate Sports Network (CSN) will officially get underway on Sunday, 23rd February 2025 at Luzira Prisons grounds in Kampala under the theme “Networking through sports”.

It is a fresh lease of life with more companies lured on board, more games on the menu and a variety of fields suggested.

Overall defending champions Centenary Bank have a mountain of a task to defend their crown at a time when the other companies are geared up for silverware.

The official launch of the second season was on Monday, 10th February 2025 at Hotel Africana in Kampala.

Bulezi notified the media that CASE Hospital and Uganda Red Cross Society have partnered with the Corporate Sports Network to provide medical services for the league.

“We have zero tolerance to mercenaries. Companies are encouraged to have participants’ lists. Upon confirmation and verification, these participants will be uploaded on our portals. Only staff members of the companies are eligible to participate. We continue to use company Identification Cards endorsed by the Human Resource managers” Bulezi stated.

A new game, Darts has been introduced, on popular demand from the Chief Executive Officers (CEO’s) and top managers.

Darts is joining the already packed menu of games as football, woodball, netball, basketball, athletics, volleyball, swimming, pool, tug-of-war and other fun games as the sack race.

Selected venues will be used to accommodate the numbers and ensure maximum security for the participants.

Prisons grounds Luzira, Mandela National Stadium Namboole, Hamz Stadium Nakivubo, Makerere University Business School (MUBS), Kyadondo Rugby Grounds, Hotel Africa (Pool and Swimming) are all alternatives.

Charles Ssempagala, the general manager of the Corporate Sports Network notifies that about 40 companies have already expressed interest to take part with fresh entrants like Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA), Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), Absa bank, Equity Bank, Autochek Uganda and Kyambogo University already on board.

The first outing of the season will take place on Sunday, 23rd February 2025 at Luzira prisons ground, the home of Maroons Football Club in the Uganda Premier League.

There will be 11 events and an awards dinner by the end of the year to celebrate and crown the season’s top performers.
