Hong Kong China Tri-Series | Match Summary | Uganda v Bahrain
- Uganda 275 (50 overs)
- Bahrain 125 (38.1/50 overs)
- Uganda won by 150 runs
Cricket Cranes made it two wins in two games at the three-nation warm up series ahead of the second round of the ICC Challenge League B tournament.
A comprehensive performance from the Cricket Cranes to ensure that they will be in the final of the Tri-Series on Sunday.
The technical team made changes to the team to ensure that the whole squad gets some good game time.
Alpesh Ramjani (57) moved up the order with youngster Cyrus Kakuru (69) also slotted into the playing XI for the day. Old man about town Frank Nsubuga was also given a chance to roll over his arm with Henry Ssenyondo, Robinson Obuya and Joseph Baguma the only ones not involved in the game.
Dinesh Nakrani (32) was also given a chance among the top four, Riazat Ali Shah and Kenneth Waiswa also given reduced roles with the bat to make sure all players got a chance.
The Cricket Cranes posted a modest 275 in 46.5 overs, a batting collapse from 233/4 losing the last 6 wickets for only 42 runs.
In the run chase, Uganda was in the element especially upfront with Dinesh Nakrani and Cosmas Kyewuta exploiting the conditions well to put the squeeze on early on.
Ramjani (5/15) exploited the pressure to pick up a fiver and cap a great all round performance from him. Kyewuta (2/27) was the other stand out bowler for the team.
The short boundaries were exploited by Bahrain to dump a few maximums and that should be the lesson for the Cricket Cranes when the competition gets underway.
The Tri-Series has so far been a great run out for the Cricket Cranes, winning their first game chasing runs and winning the second by setting a score.
The final of the series will be played on Sunday and Uganda will take on the winner of the game between Bahrain and Hong Kong tomorrow.
