Matchday 2: ILT20 Continent Cup

  • Game 2: Uganda v Rwanda
  • Uganda 192/7 in 18 overs (Obuya 83 off 44, Riazat 27 off 19)
  • Rwanda 83 all out in 16.1 overs (Dinesh 4/16, Ssenyondo 3/13)
  • Uganda won by 112 runs DLS method

Cricket Cranes picked up their second win at the ILT20 Continent Cup with a 112-run win over the hosts Rwanda.

Rwanda won the toss and elected to bowl first in overcast conditions. Despite losing Shrideep Mangela early, Robinson Obuya (83) got stuck in and notched up his second T20i half-century with a knock that was littered with six maximums and six boundaries.

Riazat Ali Shah (27) and Dinesh Nakrani (21) offered support with the Cricket Cranes notching up the highest score of the tournament so far, 192/7 in 18 overs.

In the run chase, Rwanda had a steady opening stand of 37 before Dinesh Nakrani (4/16) wreaked havoc to leave the hosts railing at 38/4. The Cricket Cranes took charge from there on eventually dismissing the hosts for only 83.

Henry Ssenyondo (3/13) brought up 100 wickets in T20i cricket, the first Ugandan bowler to bring up that milestone.

Uganda picked up a second win of the tournament and one that will give them confidence as they prepare to take on the only other side Nigeria tomorrow.
