The Cricket Cranes won their second game at the Challenge League B Tournament with a commanding 209-run margin against Tanzania.
It was a routine victory for the hosts as they put their East African neighbours to the sword.
Tanzania won the toss and elected to bowl first. Raghav Dhawan and Shrideep Mangela didn’t hang around long, but Robinson Obuya (39) and Kenneth Waiswa (20) kept the scoreboard ticking.
However, the day belonged to captain Riazat Ali Shah (104) who scored his first List A century and his 139-run partnership with Alpesh Ramjani (74) helped the hosts finish on 289.
A Captain’s knock that came on time for Riazat Ali Shah in his first tough assignment. Meanwhile, Ramjani who has also been going through a lean spell managed to stick around long enough with his captain and notch up a half-century of his own.
In the run chase, Juma Miyagi (2/16) and Cosmas Kyewuta (5/26) reduced Tanzania to 38/6, and the Tanzanians were unable to recover from that poor start and were eventually bundled out for 80 inside 28 overs.
Henry Ssenyondo (2/15) and Alpesh Ramjani (1/20) picked up the other wickets.
It is the second loss for Tanzania while Uganda makes it two out of two ahead of a clash against Hong Kong on Sunday, November 10.
