Uganda 178 all out
PNG 135 all out
Uganda won by 43 runs
The Cricket Cranes won the third 50-over match against PNG by 43 runs to pull one back in the four-game series.
The hosts had lost the opening two games of the series and needed a result in the 3rd game to avoid a complete whitewash. The Cricket Cranes made some changes in the team with Robinson Obuya, Fred Achellam, and Juma Miyagi coming in for Simon Ssesazi, Cyrus Kakuru, and Cosmas Kyewuta.
PNG won the toss and elected to bowl first. Uganda’s batters got starts but with few conversions. Shrideep Mangela (22), Saghav Dhawan (21) and a late cameo from Juma Miyagi (31) helped the hosts finish on 175 all out — an improved performance with the bat from the hosts who failed to chase 140 in the second game. Sese Bau (3/33) and John Kariko (4/22) were very good with the ball for the visitors.

In the run chase, PNG lost Sese Bau early but the captain Assadollah Valloh (66) struck his first half-century of the series despite losing wickets around him he kept his side in the game. Henry Ssenyondo has enjoyed bowling in the series and he picked his third four-wicket haul with a 4/13 performance and was complimented by Alpesh Ramjani (3/17) as Uganda bundled out the visitors for 135.
Uganda gets on the right end of the result to take the series to 2-1. The two sides will play the series’ final game tomorrow before PNG goes across to Kenya for the Challenge League B tournament.
