Cristiano Ronaldo is looking to carry on his stunning start to the season in his mission to become the first player to score 1,000 career goals.
No player in history has scored more than the 39-year-old’s 905 goals from his 1,242 outings in all competitions.

Incredibly, Ronaldo has more goals in his 30s than he managed in his 20s – and he isn’t slowing down.
After reaching the landmark 900 figure during last month’s international break, the Portugal skipper will be hoping to get himself on the score sheet this time around.
With eight goals in nine matches for Al Nassr this term, Portugal boss Roberto Martinez called up the veteran striker for the Nations League clashes with Poland and Scotland.
And Saturday’s clash with Poland will mark 20 years since the five-time Ballon d’Or winner achieved a career first during the October international break in 2004.
Ronaldo stole the show in a World Cup 2006 qualifier against Russia, with Portugal easing to a 7-1 victory at Sporting Lisbon’s Estadio Jose Alvalade.
The Euro 2016 champion, who was then on Manchester United‘s books, scored in either half at his former stomping ground.
After supplying the assist for Pauleta’s opener, the ex-Paris Saint-Germain striker then turned provider to set up Ronaldo’s first and Portugal’s second on the night.
Ronaldo made no mistake from a few yards after getting on the end of Pauleta’s low cross, before he almost broke the net with his second.
Cutting inside from the left wing, he proceeded to unleash a ferocious strike from nearly 30 yards outfit which flew into the top corner.
His second of the match made it the first time Ronaldo had scored twice on the international stage in a single game on what was his 17th cap.

It was also the first time that Ronaldo had scored outside the box for Portugal.
Ronaldo had to wait two years to grab the second brace of his career having done so for Sporting against Moreirense in October 2002.
And it would take him almost another two years to score twice for Portugal, with his following double coming against Saudi Arabia in March 2006.
In total, Ronaldo has banged in 132 goals in 214 international fixtures.
Unsurprisingly with those figures, he is the leading men’s goalscorer in international history, while also boasting the record for most appearances.
However, it took him until 2013 – ten years after his debut for Portugal – for him to register his first international hat-trick.
That came against Northern Ireland in a World Cup qualifier.
It was the first of ten hat-tricks that Ronaldo has amassed for Portugal – a record number in the men’s game.
And it wasn’t until 2016 that Ronaldo won his first trophy with Portugal, which came in the European Championship.
That was swiftly followed up with the inaugural Nations League title in 2019.
Victory for Portugal over Poland on Saturday will see them in good stead to qualify for the quarter-finals of the European tournament.

As for Ronaldo, scooping an 11th treble of his international career will see him become the oldest player to score a hat-trick.
And you wouldn’t put it past him from creating more history.
