Crystal Palace v Wolves prediction
Crystal Palace will be in action on Tuesday night for the first time since winning their first ever major trophy on Saturday afternoon with a memorable 1-0 win over Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
The FA Cup trophy will no doubt be on display for fans to see at Selhurst Park on Tuesday night as the team returns to Selhurst Park in front of their home fans for the first time since the weekend.
Saturday’s victory also means Oliver Glasner’s side have secured themselves a spot in the Europa League next season for the very first time, and will be looking to end their historic season with victories in their final two Premier League matches.
The Eagles have now won three of their last four matches in all competitions are unbeaten in six games ahead of their final home game of the season on Tuesday night, which they head into sat 12th in the Premier League table, four points away from the teams both directly above and below them.
Wolves head to the capital having lost their last two matches in the Premier League, despite having piled together a six-match winning streak prior, and will be looking to get back to winning ways on Tuesday night ahead of their penultimate match of the season.
Vitor Pereira took over as manager of Wolves back in December following the sacking of Gary O’Neil with the club second bottom of the table with just two wins from their opening 16 games of the season and five points from safety.
Heading into the final week of the Premier League season though, the Portuguese has lifted the West Midlands club into 14th place, and opened up a 16 point gap between themselves and the bottom three.
Palace have won six of their last eight matches against Wolves, who have only won one in that span, though the west Midlands side have been beaten in all of their last four visits to Selhurst Park.
A party atmosphere can be expected in south London on Tuesday night for the return of the FA Cup champions to their home ground, though a few changes can be expected from the line up that will go down in history in Selhurst, with a potential hangover still in effect. I think a 1-1 draw is the most likely scoreline.
