Barely days after generously donating an assortment of scholastic materials to over 250 children of police officers at Police Children Primary School in Kibuli, members of Car Tribe Uganda continued to make impactful contributions to the local communities.
On Tuesday, 4th February 2025, a number of members from Car Tribe Uganda (community organization uniting car owners, mechanics, and dealers) joined the officers and men of the national army, Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) in clean-up drives of Kampala city to celebrate the “Tarehe Sita” day.

‘Tarehe Sita’ is observed on 6 February every year, to commemorate the day President Yoweri Museveni led the National Resistance Army (NRA), to launch an armed struggle against oppressive dictatorships in Uganda in 1981.
Car Tribe Uganda, Uganda Red Cross and UPDF officers cleaned the Nsambya Hospital facility as well as the Kibuye Market.
Phillip “Nzela” Ssendagire, the chairperson of CarTribe Uganda is grateful of the members from his organization for accepting to be part of the community initiative.

In the same vein, Ssendagiire lauded the UPDF for partnering with them in the clean-ups.
“Car Tribe Uganda is humbled to associate with the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) to clean up Nsambya Hospital and Kibuye market. These are initiatives that help the people in the community. We look forward more activities of a similar nature” Ssendagiire noted.
For starters, Car Tribe Uganda unites car owners, mechanics, and dealers to boost innovation and sustainability in the automotive sector.
Their headquarters are located on Cooperative Plaza, Nkurumah road in Kampala city.
Previously, Car Tribe Uganda has also engaged in a number of campaigns in the community as communal cleaning (Bulungi Bwansi), environmental protection, health (blood donation), empowerment of vulnerable people and donations of scholastic materials to the school-going children.

The 44th edition of the Tahere Sita celebration will be held in Masaka city.
Tarehe Sita, which translates to “6th day” in Swahili, is a day of great historical importance for Uganda.
The event is tied to the efforts of the National Resistance Army led by the current President and Commander in Chief of the armed forces, Gen. Yoweri K. Museveni.
On February 6, 1981, the NRA launched an armed rebellion that ultimately led to the seizing control of the capital city, Kampala, bringing an end to years of political turmoil and civil unrest.
