Daniel Dubois’ trainer Don Charles believes his charge already conquered Oleksandr Usyk, just like he did Anthony Joshua.

Dubois dismantled AJ at Wembley Stadium in front of a record 98,000 fans, dropping his rival four times en route to an incredible fifth-round stoppage win.

The British heavyweight now has a wealth of options next including a shot against the winner of Oleksandr Usyk’s rematch with Tyson Fury which takes place on December 21.

If it is to be Usyk, ‘Dynamite’ has already fought the Ukrainian dropping him with a controversial ‘low blow’ before losing by stoppage himself.

And in an appearance on talkSPORT’s Jim White and Simon Jordan, Charles urged Usyk to take a sequel at his own risk.

He said: “Why not? He already did it to Usyk [KO he inflicted on Anthony Joshua].

“It was a game of two halves. In football you have two halves, but in boxing unfortunately it’s all one thing.

“We won the first half of the fight let’s say in that situation with Usyk and Daniel, and Usyk won the second half.

“Daniel already proved he can drop him, it was a legitimate punch I say it again but they chose to deny us.

“But I now dare them to bring Oleksandr Usyk to Daniel again, I dare them.”

The controversial shot saw Usyk given more time by the referee to recover, as it was deemed to be an illegal shot below the belt.

Ultimately it saw ‘The Cat’ regather his composure and regain momentum, rallying to stop his rival. who ran out of steam.

It was certainly a tough task for Usyk though, who remains undefeated having also beaten Joshua and Fury himself.

Dubois will now face a patient wait to discover his next move, and could cement a shot for the undisputed titles in 2025.

But he could well be denied if Joshua chooses to pursue a sequel with his conqueror, in a bid for immediate redemption.

Although he insists that whoever provides the biggest financial incentive, will be who he steps in the ring with next.

He told talkSPORT: “I would love a rematch [with Usyk] but either one really, whoever pays me more money.

“Also if that [a rematch with Joshua] happens next then yeah. I want to go for it. I want to do even better next time.

“I know where I need to improve as well, so as a champion and a fighter I want to prove people wrong every time and that’s what we have been doing.

“I think I would, I can do a lot better than that. It was a great showing but next time I believe I’ll be more clinical. More sharp, everything.”
