‘Rapid’ is a fan favourite on the oche thanks to his fast-paced playing style, even once hitting a 180 in just 2.16 seconds.

His on-stage antics have also won over crowds, with Evans also swapping his ‘YMCA’ walk-on music for Shakin’ Stevens’ ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’ at Ally Pally each year.

The 2022 PDC World Darts Championships were no exception either after Evans saw off Nitin Kumar in the first round.

A brilliant 130 checkout sealed a 3-0 victory before Evans performed Ronaldo’s iconic ‘Siu’ on stage.

He hyped up the crowd by twirling his finger and jumping in the air, with the spectators letting out a ‘Siu’ of their own as he landed.

The celebration has become Ronaldo’s trademark after scoring during his illustrious career.

Having first performed it in 2013, he has since pulled it out following goals for Real Madrid, Juventus, Manchester United, Al-Nassr and Portugal in the 11 years since.

Evans went on to lose to Daryl Gurney in the next round but the pair both performed the celebration once again after their clash.

Firstly, the beaten Evans gave fans one last performance as he left the stage before willing on Gurney to do the same.

The world number 45 has made the third round at Ally Pally three times in his career, must recently at last year’s event.
