- Police vs KCCA – Kavumba 4pm
- Maroons vs Mbale Heroes – Luzira 4pm
- Express vs Soltilo Bright Stars – Nakivubo 4pm
KCCA coach Abdallah Mubiru hopes the one and half week break will spur his side to turn things around when they visit Police at Kavumba on Thursday.
The Kasasiro who are still in search for the first league title since 2019 have had an indifferent form in the past seven matches winning just twice and find themselves five points behind leaders Vipers who are on 28 points.
“The one and half break we had is a blessing because it has helped recovery of some players and we have trained well in preparation for this fixture,” said Mubiru who spent over six years at Police.
However, he expects a very tough outing against the Cops who have only lost twice this season.
“Like every team that plays against us, they will be motivated to prove a point and that calls for us being clinical at both ends of the pitch,” he added.
His counterpart Simon Peter Mugerwa missed Cops’ last league outing due to commitments on the CAF A coaching course at Njeru and believes his availability will have an influence.
“I am glad to be back,” he started. “We have had good training sessions and our target will be a swift return to winning ways after faltering in the last game,” he added.
Derrick Nsibambi is fully fit and available for selection for the visitors but centre backs Peter Magambo and Filbert Obenchan are unavailable again through injury.
The hosts have Mathias Muwanga (malaria) and James Obed Brian (personal problems) unavailable.
