SC Villa miraculously won a record extending 17th Premier League title last season beating favourites KCCA and Vipers SC as well as budding sides Kitara, NEC and BUL.
That earned the Jogoos a chance to represent Uganda at the Cecafa Kagame Club Championship and the Caf Champions League which gave the fans a glimpse of hope that there would be a change of guard especially with the playing staff in terms of improving the squad.
Sadly, the story has been different up now. The club had abysmal performances in both the Cecafa and Caf competitions. The club lost competitive and strong players and the management failed to seriously recruit better players to replenish the squad that can represent and compete for the club of such stature of SC Villa.
Having watched the first 10 league matches of the season, the players look heavy, the team has no direction. Every match played the club keeps on draining down.
Its high time that the club management reflect carefully on the direction of the club otherwise the club is missing the point.
