Dillian Whyte has told Tyson Fury to change tack for his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk and take the fight to the Ukrainian.

Fury and Uysk are set for their Saudi Arabia showdown on Saturday night, live on talkSPORT, seven months on from their first historic clash.

The Ukrainian beat the ‘Gypsy King’ via split decision to become the first undisputed heavyweight world champion for 25 years.

Fury was dropped by Usyk in the ninth round of the thrilling fight that had a rematch included as part of the negotiated contract.

Defeat for Fury was the first of his career, so this weekend’s fight in Riyadh offers the chance of redemption.

Fury’s fellow heavyweight giant Whyte told talkSPORT that the ‘Gypsy King’ should look to ‘beat up’ Usyk given the fact the latter isn’t a natural heavyweight.

“I think he needs to be physical, I don’t think he was physical enough,” he said on talkSPORT Drive.

“You’re a bigger man, you’re stronger and you say you’re a fighting man, you’re the ‘Gypsy King’ and you’ll fight any man… go take the fight to him! He says he’s middleweight and he’s this and he’s that, take the fight to middleweight and beat him up, he’s a middleweight.

“That’s the mindset you have to adapt, take the fight to… You can’t let Uysk settle because if Usyk settles and gets the rhythm, he becomes very dangerous, it’s very hard to get him out of his rhythm.

“I think he should fight him like he fought Deontay Wilder and Steve Cunningham because after Steve knocked him down, Fury got up and got physical with Steve and started bullying him.

“I think he should apply those tactics from early, I think personally.”

When asked who he thinks will come out on top, Whyte was unable to give a definitive answer as he said: “I believe Fury wasn’t his best that night and Usyk wasn’t his best that night.

“I think they can both make adjustments which can change the course of the fight. If I was a betting man, I’d probably go Usyk because of the fashion he won and the way he done it.

“But I’d also have a cheeky bet on Tyson Fury as well on the other hand because his history, the fact that he’s come back from so many crazy situations and he’s made adjustments in rematches as well.

“He showed that in the fight with Deontay Wilder, Derek Chisora and all of these guys so, I’m still on the fence.”

Saturday night’s winner could be in line to face Daniel Dubois in 2025 after he beat Anthony Joshua to retain the IBF title.

The rematch was targeted for the autumn but the date was pushed back to ensure extra recovery from the first clash.

talkSPORT will offer live commentary on the night, with a live blog also running as Usyk and Fury prepare for battle once again.
