Celtic beat Slovan Bratislava 5-1 at home in their first Champions League group stage clash a couple of weeks ago, but do face a much tougher task away against last year’s finalists.
Dortmund went away to Club Brugge for their first group game, winning 3-0 thanks to three goals coming in the last 15 minutes.
They dominated the ball but were somewhat lucky Club Brugge didn’t make the most of their chances and surprisingly Dortmund let them get a fair few shots on goal.
Celtic don’t have great fortune facing German opposition, as they are winless in the eight matches played, while picking up just two draws.
Dortmund’s home form is usually exceptional, thanks in part to the intimidating nature of their home stadium and the team’s ability.
But in the Champions League it’s more apparent, with the hosts unbeaten in their last 11 in the competition.
Drawing four but winning seven, including against the toughest opponents, it looks as though Celtic will need to find something special to come away with something.
The German side are resilient in defence at home and as such it helped them reach the UCL final last year, before they lost 2-0 to Real Madrid.
