Eddie Hall looked set to meet Dillon Danis in an astonishing MMA bout but the deal collapsed.

Former World’s Strongest Man Hall has forged a surprising career in combat sports, first being beaten in an incredible boxing match with fellow strongman Thor Bjornsson in 2022.

Hall and Danis were set to meet in a ground-breaking MMA clash

‘Beast’ then made his MMA debut in the cage after a collapsed tournament with Martyn Ford.

He incredibly knocked one of the Neffati brothers out cold in a two vs one cage match which went viral on social media.

Hall was hoping to next face strongman Mariusz Pudzianowski in an MMA clash but the fight was indefinitely delayed.

But now Misfits Boxing has released a report that suggest Hall was sensationally set to meet Danis.

Danis is an MMA fighter, famously teammates with UFC superstar Conor McGregor, and a notorious troll on social media.

The pair were incredibly set to meet in an open weight clash on the launch of the Misfits MMA platform.

But the fight reportedly collapsed given they were unable to receive sanctioning in time for the event to take place.

This is due to the huge weight disparity between the pair, given Hall weighs well in excess of 300lbs.

He stepped on the scales at a monstrous 367lbs for his MMA debut.

Whereas for Danis, his boxing fight with Logan Paul saw him tip the scales at around 195lbs.

It would have seen an incredible size difference of well over 150lbs, an unprecedented amount.

Sanctioning bodies would unlikely sanction the bout given the health risks, should Danis be submitted or knocked out by the bigger fighter.

Danis has far more experience in MMA, given he has fought under the Bellator banner, with a record of 2-0 as a professional.

But it is a challenge to get Danis to actually compete, given he has a history of failing to meet the demands of events.

The American is also due to fight KSI on March 29, so it may have been an unlikely turnaround.

He has also inked a deal with new MMA promotion Global Fighters League, which may have further derailed the planned bout.

The planned bout for Hall would run in line with his original plan, where he suggested he wouldn’t fight until early this year.

It is unclear what lies in store next for the giant, or if the bout can be revived at a later date.

Hall has been training regularly despite his lack of activity in combat sports.

The 37-year-old recently got dropped by kickboxer Rico Verhoeven in a playful sparring session.
