Swindon’s clash with Crewe has been suspended as a result of poor visibility.

Players from both sides were brought off the pitch just four minutes into the match.

Following a pitch inspection at 3.30pm, the referee determined the match could restart.

After assessing the visibility at the Country Ground, Swabey confirmed play would resume at 4pm.

Prior to kick-off, a pitch inspection by the officials had confirmed the pitch as playable shortly after 12pm.

The match had originally kicked off as scheduled at 3pm in the fourth tier.

However, heavy fog soon made conditions difficult for the players, with the referee taking them off.

It is one of just two League Two matches to kick-off on Saturday after freezing conditions disrupted the schedule.

As many as six matches were postponed out of the eight fixtures initially planned.

In the only other match to go ahead, league leaders Walsall beat Tranmere 5-1 at home.

The win extends the Saddlers’ lead over their nearest rivals to 12 points.

Crewe headed into the weekend in second place prior to their trip to Swindon.

Meanwhile, their hosts sit 20th in the table, five points above the relegation zone.

The reverse fixture between the two sides in August finished goalless at Gresty Road.
