In the court room, renown city lawyer Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola does not mince words.
The outspoken-vocal lawyer is best known articulating clauses as he defends clients at will to secure victory in several human-rights and land cases.
He is also an eloquent communicator and affluent leader who has already expressed interest in the Kawempe North constituency as Member of Parliament in the 2026 presidential and parliamentary elections.
To vividly express allegiance with the vibrant youth and sports-hungry residents of Kawempe North, Nalukoola has organized the Nalukoola Kawempe North Sports Tournament for the epoch 2024-2025.
Football, Netball and Ludo are some of the sports disciplines already lined up on the rich menu.
“There is no better way to keep the youth of Kawempe North engaged than through sports. The Nalukoola Kawempe North Sports tournament 2024-2025 is meant to foster unity, development of talents through sports and also offer other communal services. After all, sports does not discriminate people of all tribes, sex, age and religion” Nalukoola disclosed.
The tournament officially kicks off this Sunday, 22nd December 2024 at the Kawempe Muslim Secondary School playground
All the zone and parishes within Kawempe North will be in action in this grueling championship that is open to all players across all divisions of Uganda’s football pyramid.
The two finalists per parish will get a set of jerseys heading to the next round of matches where the grand winner shall take home a glittering trophy, gold medals, a bull and balls.
Playgrounds:
The different playgrounds within Kawempe North will be used as; Kawempe Muslim SS, Kawempe Kutaano, Kanyanya, Komamboga, Kanyanya and Kilokole.
These are grounds that are famed for producing some of the finest talents in boxing, netball and football that Uganda as a country has witnessed as Zebra Mando Ssenyange (RIP) and his son Zebra Mando Ssenyange Junior, former Uganda Cranes internationals Ibrahim Ssekagya, Abubakar Tabula, Charles Livingstone Mbabazi, Willy “Jamir” Kyambadde (Rest in Peace), among others.
Strong local organizing committee:
To ensure a smooth progress of this tournament, the local organizing committee has a couple of tried and tested officials in football administration and management.
Swaibu Walusimbi will steer the entire organizing committee as chairperson.
Walusimbi is deputized by Hussein Ssebalamu, also the referees’ coordinator.
Shafik Ssentamu Basmati is in charge of welfare as the much-desired technical committee has Moses Nkata.
Uganda U-20 head coach Mathias Lule is on the disciplinary committee.
Celebrated CBS radio and BBS Telefaina female journalist Peace Diane Bagaala is the head of publicity.
The local organizing committee will work hand-in-hand with the respective team coordinators.
Nkata confirms that the double header on the official grand opening day has Kalule zone against Kakungulu zone in the early kick off at 2 PM.
This will be proceeded by Keti Falawo zone against Kilekole zone at 4:00 PM.
