Emma Raducanu appeared to hit back at recent rumours surrounding her car ownership with a cheeky social media post.

It was previously reported that sponsor Porsche had reclaimed the £125,000 911 Carrera GTS it had lent the British tennis star, before she was recently pictured boarding a London bus.

Raducanu was appointed as a global brand ambassador for the car manufacturer in 2022 after shooting to fame following her victory at the 2021 US Open.

Earlier this month, media outlets claimed that Porsche had withdrawn the vehicle they had gifted her, with an inside source telling the Daily Mail: “Emma no longer has a Porsche. They took it back.”

However, the Germany company quickly denied the rumour, and issued a public statement to clarify the situation.

It read: “Emma Raducanu is a global brand ambassador for Porsche and there have not been any changes within our successful partnership since it started in 2022.”

The 21-year-old appeared to address the ongoing speculation surrounding her relationship with the brand.

Following these initial reports, Raducanu posted a picture of herself sat inside a Porsche on her Instagram account, next to a second photo which read: “Like I vanished and reappeared.”

And the Brit has now once again taken to social media in the wake of fresh stories emerging in the saga.

After she was spotted catching a London bus over the weekend, media outlets ran stories that Raducanu had resorted to taking public transport following Porsche’s rumoured decision to withdraw her sponsorship deal.

However, later reports claimed that the current world no.58 had been pictured behind the wheel of a £100,000 Porsche Cayenne just hours later.

The continued coverage looks to have amused Raducanu, who then shared photo of herself riding the bus on her Instagram story, alongside a laughing emoji and a newspaper emoji.

With Porsche known to swiftly withdraw vehicles from celebrity ambassadors they are deemed not to be delivering value for money, it was feared that the tennis star had fallen victim to this.

The former British no.1 previously revealed that it had been a dream come true when she first struck up an endorsement deal with the motoring giants in 2022.

Recalling how one of her childhood tennis coaches had owned one of their cars, she said: “Whenever I would turn up to practice in the morning I would see his Porsche.

“I would go: ‘Wow!’ and be dreaming of one day sitting in my own.”

Despite enduring injury hell in 2023, and slipping to number 296 in the WTA rankings, Raducanu has enjoyed a resurgent 2024.

Despite failing to replicate her 2021 heroics with a first-round exit in this year’s US Open, Raducanu reached the fourth round of Wimbledon in July, her best Grand Slam performance since her maiden major victory.

This, on top of a semi-final appearance at the Rothesay Open in June saw her break back into the world’s top 100, and she was crowned the LTA’s Women’s Player of the Month award for July as a result.

Despite enduring a fresh injury set back at last month’s Korea Open, where she strained ligaments in her foot, it is hoped that Raducanu will be fit to represent Great Britain at the Billie Jean King Cup finals, starting on November 13.
