The Eagles’ 42-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans was Vick’s last job as a Fox broadcaster as he prepares to step into a new role away from the NFL.

The 44-year-old recently made the shock decision to return to college football and take up the head coach role at Norfolk State University ahead of the 2025 season.

And ahead of Super Bowl Sunday, Fox colleague Charissa Thompson confirmed Vick would be departing the broadcaster imminently.

Thompson wrote on her Instagram story on Saturday: “Out here with my guys … walkthrough for tomorrows big day and @‌mikevick last day with us.”

Ahead of the game, Thompson spoke with Vick on his decision to leave, saying: “Sadly, Michael Vick this is your last show. But you are moving on to become the head coach of Norfolk State. Sad to see you go but are you excited for your next game?”

“Yeah I’m very excited,” Vick responded. “I’m truly going to miss you guys. Truly going to miss you all. I’m going to make sure I stay in touch without a doubt.

“It’s been amazing down in Norfolk State. Obviously it’s a new journey but everybody in the program understands the path that we got to chart going forward. It’s going to take a lot of work but it’s what I signed up for. It’s been a good – so far so good.”

Vick got to see his former team end the Chiefs’ three-peat dreams and lift their second Vince Lombardi Trophy in emphatic fashion.

After the game, he had an emotional send off, telling his Fox colleagues he’ll continue to watch them from a distance.

“I’ll be watching from afar,” Vick said.

“Mike, I gotta tell you, since I’ve been with you the longest,” Thompson said.

“I adore you. You are a class act. I love you as a person. I know I speak for all of us.

“I’m going to get emotional about it because you are such a good man. I’m really proud of the journey that you’re on. I can’t wait to see what you do in your next chapter.

“Our loss is their gain, and we’re really, really excited for you.

“Love you guys so much,” Vick responded.

“I’ll always be a teammate, always and forever. And you know what, our paths will cross again.”

The crew then shared a huge and bid farewell to fans as another NFL season came to an end.

Vick became a legend at Virginia Tech before making waves in the NFL.

He was a highly influential dual threat QB, who was named to three Pro Bowls with the Falcons and led the team to two playoff runs, one division title, and an NFC Championship Game appearance.

He signed with the Eagles in 2009, leading the team to a division title in 2010 while earning the Comeback Player of the Year award and a fourth Pro Bowl selection.

The Virginia native has never held a head coaching position before but shocked the football world when he announced his appointment at Norfolk State.

“It’s an honor to announce that I’ll be the new head coach of Norfolk State University… looking forward to coming back home,” Vick posted.

Norfolk State is currently in a rebuilding phase after parting ways with coach Dawson Odums following a 4-8 season.

The Spartans are looking to better their single FCS playoff appearance, which culminated in a first-round loss to Old Dominion in 2011.

The Washington Commanders will be a neighbor for Vick when he officially takes over as the Norfolk State head coach.

Despite immersing himself in the world of college football, he’ll be cloe to the nation’s capital to see rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and the Commanders continue to build towards being a Super Bowl contender.
