Emile Heskey’s son was the super sub for Manchester City’s academy as he scored an excellent second half hat-trick.

Their Friday night clash against Norwich City got off to the perfect start when Emilio Lawrence netted with nine minutes on the clock.

However, it was Reigan Heskey who stole the show after half-time as he scored three goals in just 22 minutes.

Heskey was substituted on for Lawrence before the start of the second half and netted moments later with a close-range finish.

The 16-year-old’s second of the night was a low finish into the bottom-right corner that gave City a comfortable three-goal lead.

He then completed his hat-trick in the 67th minute with a strike that crept through the arms of the goalkeeper.

Heskey’s goals were his first in the Premier League 2, with the teenager normally featuring for City in the U18 Premier League.

The teenager provided the assist for their fifth and final goal by Will Dickson in stoppage-time to close out the thumping win.

Reigan’s brother Jaden also played, with their father and England legend Emile surely aware of the talent his sons possess.

Reigan in particular has been tipped for a bright future in the game by his manager Ben Wilkinson, who said: “He’s got an unbelievable chance to be a top player.

“He has a lot of attributes you’d look for in someone of his position. To come on in an EDS game as a 16-year-old and score a hat-trick isn’t something you see very often.

“He deserves a lot of credit but it’s 45 minutes of football. He scored an outstanding goal the other night and know what a talent he is.

“Our job is to steer him in the right direction over the next couple of years and not let him get too high in these moments.

“I’m sure he’ll have some bumps as well. We’ll make sure he doesn’t get too low in that point and just try to keep him on track.”

City’s win has extended their Premier League winning run to seven after losing their opening match against Liverpool 3-1.

They sit top of the table and two points ahead of Brighton, with 30 goals scored and only eight conceded.
