England will be looking to bounce back to victory after suffering an agonising defeat against New Zealand in London last weekend, in which the home side gave up an eight point lead with 13 minutes remaining, before missing a drop kick in the last minute of a 24-22 defeat.

Steve Borthwick’s side have now lost their last four matches against Tier 1 nations, albeit three of those have been against New Zealand, and will be desperate to get back to winning ways against an Australian side in transition ahead of their games with world champions South Africa next week.

Saturday’s game will be Australia’s first of their Autumn Nations Series, and their first match since their unsuccessful Rugby Championship campaign which saw them pick up the Wooden Spoon with five defeats from their six matches.

Australia are still in transition from their shock pool stage exit at last year’s World Cup, and kick off the current international period against an England side who have got the better of them in each of their last 10 meetings, without a win since the 2015 World Cup.
