The top two sides in Nations League B2 go head to head at Wembley on Thursday night as England host Greece in the first two of two international fixtures for the Three Lions over the next week.
Lee Carsley’s tenure as caretaker manager of the England side following the departure of Gareth Southgate after the Euros has been extended after having won his opening two fixtures in charge with flying colours.
Back-to-back 2-0 victories away at Ireland, then at home against Finland leaves the Three Lions in a strong position to secure promotion back into the top flight after their unplanned relegation in the last edition of the competition two years ago.
England head into the international break having not lost a competitive match at Wembley inside 90 minutes in almost four years, and will head into Thursday’s match as strong favourites to knock their opponents off top spot in the group with a win.

Greece will head into their first match at Wembley since 1994 in high spirits having won each of their last three matches following their Euro 2024 qualifying heartbreak in which they lost on penalties in Georgia in the play-off final.
Former Panathinaikos manager Ivan Jovanovic has since taken charge of the team and the Serbian has won both of his game in charge, winning 3-0 at home against Finland before a 2-0 win in Dublin secured their place at the top of the group on goal difference ahead of England.
This current campaign is Greece’s first in the second tier having secured promotion from League C two years ago, and have hit the ground running in the League, guaranteed at least a top two spot at the half way stage of the league phase after their trip to Wembley.
England are unbeaten against Greece in their history, winning seven and drawing two of their nine previous meetings, including a 4-0 win at Old Trafford in the last game between the two sides back in 2006 in what was Steve McClaren’s first game in charge, taking on a Greek side who were European champions at the time.
