Crystal Palace are still searching for their first win of the Premier League season as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest.

Chris Wood scored the only goal of the game on 65 minutes as his low speculative drive managed to squirm under the hands of Eagles goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

The away side had their chances before Wood’s goal, with the standout opportunity seeing Eberechi Eze’s shot from distance saved onto the crossbar by Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels.

And Sels did brilliantly to tip a curling effort by Jeffrey Schlupp in the 81st minute away from goal.

Forest also hit the woodwork with Wood’s effort from close range in the first half bouncing off the Palace post.

Defeat means Oliver Glasner’s side end the matchweek 18th in the Premier League table having not claimed a win from their eight league games thus far.

The result also means history was created as this is the first time in English football that four top-flight teams have failed to get a win from their opening eight league matches.

Joining Palace in their misery are Wolves and Southampton, who only have a point each to show for their efforts so far.

Meanwhile, 17th-placed Ipswich are also winless from their first eight games, drawing four and losing four.
