Yuki Tsunoda has revealed he once won a race as a child despite a horrific mistake on the toilet.
The RB driver is currently in his fourth season in Formula One after starting his career in his native Japan.
Tsunoda won the F4 Japanese Championship in 2018 before competing in both F3 and F2.
After securing third place in F2 in 2020 he joined the F1 grid for the following season.
However, he has admitted he suffered an embarrassing moment even earlier in his racing days.
As a child, Tsunoda competed in karting events, where he once suffered a malfunction after using the toilet.
The 24-year-old told The Red Flags Podcast: “As a racing driver, when you take a s*** you take the top part (of the racing suit) and you roll it down and put your suit around your knees.
“I couldn’t do it properly, I didn’t do it perfectly well and I s***.
“When I stood up from the toilet and when I tried to wear it, I could smell it from behind. ‘What’s going on? Something’s going on.’
“When I see the mirror, there’s s*** on it, a little bit and actually I didn’t roll it down and the s*** was just kissing through the edge of the suit. That was not a good moment.”
The hosts were left in hysterics before Tsunoda revealed the incident occurred before a race.
He was then asked how he did on the track, adding: “Probably, I won.”

Tsunoda will be hoping to avoid any repeats of his toilet trauma at the remaining three races of the season.
The season resumes on November 23 with the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
An eighth placed finish or higher would see Tsunoda equal his best ever points tally for a season.
He has already accumulated 28 points from 21 races in 2024 to leave himself 11th in the Drivers’ Championship standings.
