Even after a challenging season, last year’s Premier League Champions Manchester City are backed by 84% of bet365 customers, and labelled unsurprising 3/4 favourites to win the game in normal time.

Although the vast majority are backing Man City to join the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham on eight FA Cup wins, Crystal Palace’s 11.5% of bet365 backers will hope they can make their third FA Cup final a cup-winning one for the first time.

Palace are the underdogs in the odds, priced at 10/3 to win at full time and at 11/5 to lift the trophy.

There have been plenty of changes since their previous FA Cup Final game in 2016, but this time they’ll need to get the better of the blue side of Manchester, instead of the red side that beat them almost a decade ago.

bet365’s Sports and Trading expert Steve Freeth said: “While Manchester City are the most popular choice in the Full Time Result market with 84.03% of bets placed on Pep Guardiola’s side, recent history between the two teams suggest that Crystal Palace shouldn’t be underestimated as they aim to end their long wait for major silverware.

“Eberechi Eze is in scintillating form heading into the FA Cup final, having scored in each of the last four matches, including a brace in his last match, and he’s proving extremely popular in the ‘To Score Anytime’ market, accounting for 51% of bets placed.”

That 51% of the backing for Eze to score anytime only further highlights the reason that Pep Guardiola is rumoured to have interest in the Englishman.

At 15/4 to score anytime, Eze has caught the eye of bet365 customers too, as has 17-goal Jean-Philipe Mateta who has had a brilliant season to see 2/1 odds on an anytime goal.

Although dwarfed by the percentage of bets placed on Palace’s number 10, there’s still the obvious threat of Erling Haaland and his 5/6 odds that have been backed by 17.79% of bets in the To Score Anytime market.

With fans eyeing up a fairytale finish for City’s beloved Kevin De Bruyne, 3.5% have put their faith in the Belgian to fulfil 7/2 anytime scorer odds.
