The American won world titles in five weight classes, and formed part of the epic ‘Four Kings’, a rivalry alongside Roberto Duran, Thomas Hearns and Marvin Hagler.
Leonard hasn’t fought in 28 years but remains in fantastic shape as a veteran.
And incredibly he has released new footage of himself working the heavy bag in a boxing workout.
He worked at a surprisingly quick speed letting his hands go, and still clearly possessing precision and power.
Leonard also showed some remarkable speed given he is well beyond his prime fighting days in the squared circle.
Fans were delighted to see him still in his shape, giving them a nostalgic look at one of boxing’s best-ever operators.
One wrote: “Wow he’s still got it, that’s impressive.”
Another agreed: “He has still got them fast hands, ridiculous.”
A viewer wrote: “The greatest champion.”
While another added: “The fastest hands even still. Current champions don’t even have these skills.”

One continued: “Wow this is so inspirational.”
Although another viewer joked: “This guy could be Jake Paul‘s next opponent.”
A final fan concluded: “That’s incredible. Hes faster than some of the 30-year-olds at my gym.”
Leonard of course will not be making a comeback, but his skills are seriously impressive nonetheless.
He was part of a generation of boxing which has rarely been matched, leading a great age of the sport particularly on US soil.
The skillful legend brushed shoulders with legends including Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali in an era of transcending superstars.

And when speaking in 2017, Leonard insisted boxing simply isn’t the same in the current model.
He said: “There was such an honour to be a champion; it was such a supreme position of being World Champion.
“But also, back in the day, they called those fighters who were next in line for a title shot, contenders.
“It’s a totally obsolete word in boxing. Now they just say, ‘He’s number 12, or he’s number eight.’
“If you were number two, five, or even 10, by being a contender, you would get a title fight.
“It’s so different now, and that’s not good for boxing or the fans – particularly the fans. It’s just not good for the sport.”
