A cold, freshly poured pint of beer at the pub always hits the spot.
But if there’s one thing I’ve never quite managed to replicate at home, it’s the smooth, creamy pour of a proper draught beer, so I jumped at the opportunity to put a home beer dispenser to the test.

Fizzics DraftPour Beer Dispenser at Lakeland, £99.99 (was £129.99)
Whether it’s a lager, IPA, or stout, there’s always been something about the pub-pulled experience that cans and bottles can’t match.
However, the Fizzics DraftPour Portable Beer Dispenser, which is approved by Shark Tank (the US equivalent of Dragon’s Den), claims to be able to change all that by turning any can or bottle into a perfect pint.
Simply pop a bottle or can between 330ml and 750ml inside, follow the instructions and a pint with a foamy head should glide into your glass.
Thanks to a £30 price reduction, it’s now under £100 at Lakeland and that includes a two-year warranty, which I thought great value per pour if it actually worked.

How I Tested the Fizzics DraftPour Beer Dispenser

Fizzics DraftPour Beer Dispenser at Lakeland, £99.99 (was £129.99)
To put the DraftPour to the test, I used it extensively for a week.
I wanted to see how it handled different beer styles, so I tried it with lagers, IPAs, stouts, and wheat beers.
My goal was to evaluate whether the device consistently improved the taste, texture, and overall experience compared to drinking straight from the can or bottle.
I also tested its ease of use, portability, and cleaning process.
Since the DraftPour is designed to work with standard-sized cans and bottles, I checked its compatibility with different brands and sizes, noting any limitations.
Each session involved pouring a pint by following the instructions closely: pulling the handle forward for the initial pour and pushing it back to create the foam.
I paid attention to the quality of the pour, the appearance of the beer, and, of course, the taste.

First Impressions
When the Fizzics DraftPour arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by its compact size.
It comes neatly packaged in a box that’s easy to carry, and I was also impressed by how light it was.
This makes it easy to move around the house or even take to a friend’s place for a beer night.
It runs on either four AA batteries or a USB power source, so you can set it up virtually anywhere.
Size-wise, the dispenser itself resembles a sleek, modern slimline coffee machine.
Inside the box, you’ll find the dispenser, the top handle, a portable carry bag, a USB charger, instructions and a quick-start poster with a QR code that links to a Vimeo instruction video.

Performance
The Fizzics beer dispenser is incredibly simple to operate and I liked that it comes ready-built.
Another win is that you don’t need to buy any special kegs, which makes it easy to have a spontaneous pint.
A minor niggle is that the QR code directed me to a Vimeo page that required me to register for an account, which slowed down the process.
First of all, I put warm water through the system to clean it and then it was time for the real deal.
All I had to do was unscrew the lid, insert a can, pull the handle forward to pour the beer and then push it back to create the foam.

But I would advise reading the instructions properly before you start as the tip to hold the glass at a 45-degree angle was crucial as was the advice to only fill up three-quarters of the glass before pushing it backwards.
My first two attempts had a ridiculous amount of foam on top, which made it hard to drink the beer underneath.
The creamy head added a richness to the flavour, and the whole experience felt far closer to what you’d get at a pub.
Ease of Use and Maintenance
One of the standout features of the DraftPour beer dispenser is how easy it is to clean.
The removable drip tray can be cleaned with a cloth in seconds and the handle has a lint cloth to keep it shiny.
There are no fiddly parts to take apart for cleaning. All I had to do was pour a pint with warm water inside (which took less than two minutes) and then it was as good as new.
It’s also compact enough to store in a cupboard when not in use, which I loved as I don’t have a lot of space on my countertop.
Fizzics DraftPour verdict
If you love beer and want to elevate your at-home drinking experience, the Fizzics DraftPour Portable Beer Dispenser is a fantastic gadget.
Its ability to turn ordinary canned or bottled beer into something that genuinely resembles a pub-pulled pint is impressive, and the simple setup and maintenance make it a joy to use.
At £99.99, it’s also good value for money, especially with a two-year guarantee and no need to buy special kegs.
Yes, it’s more expensive than the Guinness Nitrosurge but it works well with all kinds of beers, even alcohol–free beers.
It won’t replace the charm of your local pub, but for those nights when you fancy a draught-like pint without leaving the house, it’s hard to beat.

How does Fizzics DraftPour work?
The Fizzics DraftPour beer dispenser uses patented Micro-Foam technology to enhance the carbonation in canned and bottled beer, delivering a draught-like pint with a creamy head.
The process is simple: you insert a can or bottle into the dispenser, pull the tap handle forward to pour the beer, and then push it back to create the foam.
The Micro-Foam technology transforms the natural CO2 in the beer into densely packed micro-bubbles, improving the texture, flavour, and aroma.
This results in a smoother, fresher-tasting pint that closely mimics the experience of drinking from a pub tap.
How to clean the Fizzics DraftPour beer dispenser?
Cleaning the Fizzics DraftPour is quick and easy.
Here’s how to clean it:
- Switch off the device and remove any remaining beer can or bottle.

- Allow all parts to air dry before reassembling the device.
By following these steps, you can keep your Fizzics DraftPour in excellent condition, ready to deliver the perfect pint every time.
