Florida Panthers at Edmonton Oilers predictions
If the Panthers claim the Stanley Cup once again, Sam Bennett will be receiving Conn Smythe votes for his performance in this playoff run. In game 1 the 28-year-old lit the lamp on two occasions, bringing his 2025 playoff goal total to 12, which currently sees him first overall in that stat category.
Carter Verhaeghe rises to the occasion when it’s playoff time, building a solid resume with his postseason displays. Game 1 saw the Toronto, Ontario native catalogue two helpers, now sitting with 16 points through 18 postseason appearances in 2025. In 411 career regular season outings, Verhaeghe has collected 302 points in six NHL seasons.
The saviour Wednesday night was superstar Leon Draisaitl, scoring the winning goal in overtime to give the Oil the all-important first win. In just over 28 minutes of ice time, Draisaitl garnered two tallys off four shots he fired away. The Oilers centerman has obtained the second-highest amount of points in the playoffs with 27, one behind Connor McDavid.
Kasperi Kapanen was the unsung hero in game 1 for Edmonton. The Finnish winger put in just over 20 minutes of work, which resulted in him acquiring two assists. The 10-year NHL veteran has now appeared on the stat sheet in three consecutive games.
Florida Panthers at Edmonton Oilers betting tip
Despite both starting net-minders finishing game 1 with save percentages of over .900, we feel game 2 will provide frequent pucks hitting the back of the cage, similar to game 1. Both adversaries entering this tilt have managed to rack up goals in their previous 10 contests; both the Oilers and Panthers are averaging 3.8 goals scored per game.
Both opponents are also manufacturing solid trends towards the affair going over the total goal mark. 15 of the previous 20 games for the Panthers have gone over the number and at the same time the over has eclipsed in eight of their last nine road games. For Edmonton, they have seen their fair share of the total goals going over the number with Rogers Place witnessing the last five games against the Panthers achieving the over. Going to the alternate goal mark we sense six goals is more than reasonable for both teams to attain on Friday.
