The American became one of the sport’s biggest ever pay-per-view draws and headlined the biggest events, resulting in the legend pocketing a remarkable $1.2billion in total earnings.

During his career and since his retirement, Mayweather has been living a plush lifestyle buying a whole host of properties, luxury items and making other investments.

But one of his most expensive purchases ever came on an incredible luxury watch, a passion which he has shared with his fans for several years.

In 2018, Mayweather revealed that he had picked up a new ‘Billionaire Watch’ to add to his incredible collection, for the small price of $18m.

The custom-made timepiece was first revealed in 2015, and is made by luxury jewellers Jacob & Co.

Incredibly, the watch is made of emerald-cut diamonds to a total of 260 carats, with each single stone weighing a monstrous 3 carats.

It’s bracelet to hold the clock face in place also has 18 carats, and the watch is one-of-a-kind, the only version of this model to exist on the planet.

The watch ranks as one of the most expensive to have ever been purchased in the world, and its worth puts it alongside some of Mayweather’s biggest-ever investments.

He bought the watch off of jeweller Tadashi Fukushima and it is considered the prized possession of his collection.

Mayweather posted an image of his new purchase for fans to see six years ago, while showing off his crazy amount of jewellery he already owns.

The gifted boxing operator later revealed his new purchase on an interview that year, adding: “This watch is worth $18m.

“I got guys I work with every day, yesterday I made $10m.

“I dreamed about this, I wrote it down. This is worth more than some of my houses.

“You must surround yourself around the right people.”

The former five-weight world champion’s watch collection is believed to total an estimated worth of around $100m, a remarkable asset which could well fetch more if sold.

That luxury piece alone, was the same as he paid for his Los Angeles mega-mansion that he purchased for $18m, and has since listed for sale at around $40m.

He recently added another four-watch luxury collection worth $1m to his armoury, and it appears he isn’t stopping there.

Mayweather holds multiple lavish properties, a supercar collection and generational wealth from his multiple businesses.

But it is no wonder he is set financially for life, having banked record purses for his biggest fights against the likes of Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor.

His showdown with Pacquiao in 2014 was the largest selling pay-per-view event, seeing him rake in a total financial revenue of $350m from the 12-round win.

His final bow against UFC superstar McGregor came just second to that in pay-per-view sales around the 3.5m mark, and seeing him earn an estimated $300m.

Those earnings are independent to some other big nights he headlined including against the likes of Oscar De La Hoya and Canelo Alvarez.

Despite no longer fighting professionally the wealth keeps on coming for ‘TBE’ who now fights in lucrative exhibition bouts.

He has fought the likes of YouTube stars Logan Paul and Deji, in risk-free bouts while earning eight-figure purses.

The 47-year-old’s most recent outing saw him dominate John Gotti III in Mexico, but it remains to be seen if he will make a new comeback.

Irrespective of his boxing exploits, Mayweather has positioned himself to be financially stable for life and for many generations to come.
