Gameweek 10 of the Premier League season is almost upon us, with 18 out of 20 teams in action this weekend (Fulham face Brentford on Monday).
Our recommended acca focuses on five of the matches taking place across Saturday and Sunday in the top flight of the English game.
A £10 wager on our three-leg acca would pay out £42.78, while the same stake on our five-leg version offers a potential return of £149.72.
Manchester United vs Chelsea: Both teams to score (2/5)
The Erik ten Hag era at Manchester United is over after the Dutchman was sacked on Monday. Ruben Amorim has been chosen as his replacement, but Ruud van Nistelrooy will be in charge against Chelsea.
United are 14th in the Premier League table going into the weekend. Only Crystal Palace and Southampton have scored fewer goals, but the Red Devils hit five past Leicester City in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
It is hard to know for sure without access to the dressing room, but it did not seem like Ten Hag was hugely unpopular with his squad. Even so, his departure could give the team an initial lift as the players cast an eye to the future.
Chelsea still have work to do defensively despite their promising start to the campaign under Enzo Maresca. They have conceded in seven of their nine matches so far. Goals at both ends is the way to go here.
Select both teams to score at 2/5 with bet365
Newcastle United vs Arsenal: Newcastle or draw (5/6)
Newcastle United dropped into the bottom half of the table last weekend after losing 2-1 to Chelsea.
Eddie Howe is starting to come under pressure, although the manager would no doubt point to an underwhelming summer transfer window as the primary reason for his team’s struggles.
Yet while Newcastle will struggle to finish in the top four this term, they can still go toe to toe with the best teams in the division on their day – particularly at St James’ Park.
For all the doom and gloom, Brighton & Hove Albion are the only victorious visitors to the northeast in 2024/25.
Given their injury problems and mixed performances of late, Arsenal may have to settle for a point at best.
Back Newcastle or draw at 5/6 with bet365
Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa: Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals (4/6)
Tottenham Hotspur only finished two points behind Aston Villa in the race for the top four last term, but the early signs in 2024/25 suggest Spurs have not yet done enough to close the gap.
The north Londoners have had several highs and lows already this season. Inconsistency has been a problem: a week after they thumped West Ham United 4-1, Ange Postecoglou’s side turned in an insipid display in a 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace.
You never seem to know which version of Tottenham is going to turn up on any given day – and that is a big problem for a team chasing Champions League football.
Spurs tend to be stronger at home than away, so this is still a tough assignment for Villa. We reckon an entertaining encounter lies in store.
Choose both teams to score and over 2.5 goals at 4/6 with bet365

Wolves vs Crystal Palace: Crystal Palace to win (6/4)
Not for the first time, Brighton & Hove Albion are showing other mid-sized Premier League clubs how it is done.
A 1-0 defeat of Newcastle United last weekend moved them up to fifth in the table, fuelling hopes that Brighton can challenge for European qualification this term.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have much more modest ambitions. Along with Crystal Palace, Ipswich Town and Southampton, they are still waiting for their first victory of 2024/25.
By our reckoning, it is unlikely to come here. Brighton are not always the most consistent team in the division, but they have the bit between their teeth right now.
Confidence in the Wolves camp no doubt took a hit when they lost to a last-gap Manchester City winner last weekend. With their supporters behind them on the south coast, the hosts should take this one.
Tip Crystal Palace to win at 6/4 with bet365
Southampton vs Everton: Under 3.5 goals (2/5)
After opening the season with four defeats on the bounce, Everton have now gone five games unbeaten to ease the pressure on Sean Dyche.
Their revival has come in a very Dychian manner: Everton have tightened up at the back and made themselves harder to beat.
No one is averaging less possession than Everton at the moment, but their pragmatic manager will not mind that one bit.
Southampton, for their part, have had more of the ball than anyone but Manchester City, Tottenham, Liverpool, Brighton and Chelsea, yet they are bottom of the table.
Everton will aim to make this an attritional affair, so goals could be in short supply at St Mary’s.
Go for under 3.5 goals at 2/5 with bet365
