Forward Hadijah Nandago has completed her move to the India Women Super League, joining Sethu FC.
The crafty player who has been plying her trade with Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC joins the Indian outfit on a one-year deal but with an option to renew for another year.
Kawowo Sports can exclusively report that the player with the help of her representatives Sepuya Inc Agency travelled to India on Friday last week before putting pen to paper.
On Tuesday, 28th January 2025, Nandago made her debut for Sethu FC, starting on bench in the 3-0 defeat to East Bengal. The latter is where Resty Nanziri, another Ugandan footballer plays.
At Sethu FC, Nandago joins fellow countrywoman Amina Nababi who joined the club in October last year.
Born to Abdallah Kitengejja and Mariam Namakula on 15th February 2005, in Lungujja (Zone8) Rubaga division, a suburb of Kampala Nandago picked interest in football at the age of eight while at a pupil at Primary Four at Mirembe Infant Primary School in Nateete.
She would later join Rines SS, Pride SS in Mpigi and later Kawempe Muslim where she completed her senior six in 2023.
Nandago has featured for the Uganda U17, U20 and the Senior Women’s National Team (The Crested Cranes).
She was the captain of the U20 Women’s National Team during the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers last year.
At Kawempe Muslim, the diminutive forward guided the team to winning the 2023/24 FUFA Women Super League.
