Paul Put has made another addition to the Uganda Cranes squad by summoning URA forward Ivan Ahimbisibwe.

The striker, second league goal scorer with 9 goals so far this season was overlooked on the initial 36-man squad revealed on Wednesday but now rightfully earns a place on the team.

Speaking to the media after Friday’s training session at Luzira, Put confirmed injury to Karisa and Shafik Nana Kwikiriza and also confirmed that APR new signings Denis Omedi and Hakim Kiwanuka are unavailable.

“So, we had the news that Omedi and Hakim they left. Then we have Karisa who got injured, Shafik who is injured,” said Put. “In the next 2-3 days we shall no more but more likely, they could all be out.”

Already, KCCA winger Usama Arafat was added to the team on Thursday and Ahimbisibwe who was in the squad for the Burundi qualifier is now in as well as per a communication by FUFA.

“URA FC Striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe summoned to the Uganda Cranes CHAN Squad.

He will join the squad for tomorrow’s training at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo. The addition of Ahimbisibwe brings the number to 38 players for the non-residential camp that will be reduced to 26 players on Monday.”
