Fox Sports are reportedly hiring Robert Griffin III as part of a major shake-up at the network.
Thirteen years ago, RGIII was the new face of the NFL and the Washington Redskins, helping build a dual-threat foundation for Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, Jayden Daniels and more.

In 2025, Griffin is better known for his busy social media accounts and a controversial run as an NFL analyst on ESPN.
The former Heisman Trophy winner was part of ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Countdown’ show and a regular on First Take and Get Up but was let go by the network in August 2024 with two years remaining on his contract.
RGIII was viewed as an up-and-coming analyst who had served as a color commentator for the network during college football games and as an analyst on morning shows and Monday Night Countdown since 2021.
However, prior to his sudden release, he was replaced on the ‘Monday Night Countdown’ crew by former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce.
The 35-year-old RGIII — along with former colleague Sam Ponder — were reportedly let go due to budget cuts.
At the time, The New York Post reported RGIII would still get his annual seven-figure salary from ESPN until the end of the two years he had left on the deal.
Now, though, the former signal caller is being hired as Fox’s No2 college football game analyst, according to The Athletic.
He’ll be replacing Brock Huard who has left the role be an assistant coach for his son’s high school football team.
Griffin is now expected to team up with play-by-play announcer Jason Benetti in the booth, although a contract has not yet been finalized.
It is not known whether he will be part of their Fox NFL Sunday plans for the 2025 campaign.

It’s been a tumultuous few months at Fox Sports.
$375 million man Tom Brady was largely well received in his first year in the booth, but the network also lost a legend.
Jimmy Johnson has officially announced his retirement from Fox not long after the Eagles won Super Bowl LIX.
“Probably the most fun I’ve ever had in my career, and that’s counting Super Bowls and national championships, was at Fox Sports,” the 81-year-old Johnson said.
“I have an absolute ball with my friends on the set and the best friends I’ve ever had there with Fox.
“But I’ve made an extremely difficult decision, I’ve been thinking about it for the last four or five years, and I’ve decided to retire from Fox and I’m going to miss it.
“I’m going to miss all the guys and I’ll see them occasionally, but it has been a great run starting back 31 years ago.”
Following the retirement of Johnson, legendary Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has been tipped to step up in his place.
Elsewhere, Terry Bradshaw’s future is up in the air after a number of health issues.
During Super Bowl week in February, Bradshaw revealed plans to walk away from broadcasting at the ripe age of 80 following several health issues.
“I told my wife before I left the room a while ago,” Bradshaw said. “I was sitting there and I got two years left at FOX. I’m 76.

More recently, Fox lost Peter Schrager to ESPN.
News of his move to ESPN was first reported by Front Office Sports (FOS).
The insider and TV personality, who said an emotional goodbye to the NFL Network and Good Morning Football (GMFB), has previously worked on-screen roles with Fox Sports.
Alongside his GMFB host duties, Schrager also had a Super Bowl role with Fox, and was on the network’s weekly 11am pregame show during the regular season.
His move to ESPN was seen as a blow for both Fox and the NFL Network, where he has been a staple of GMFB since the show’s inception in 2016.
