Piers Morgan didn’t get the answer he was expecting when he asked Francis Ngannou how quickly he could kill him in the ring.

The former UFC heavyweight champion recently sat down for a 40-minute interview with the Talk TV host, who was keen to hear how badly he’d do in a fight with one of the most lethal men on the planet.

Morgan wanted to know just how badly he’d do in a fight with NgannouPiers Morgan Uncensored – Talk TV

However, Ngannou thinks Morgan will do slightly better than he expects and will probably end up in the hospital rather than the morgue.

The former Britain’s Got Talent judge asked: “How long do you think it would take you to kill me in the ring, do you think?”

Ngannou replied: “Well, I think you may underestimate yourself.

“It’s really hard. I don’t think it’s that easy to kill a man.”

Morgan clearly expected Ngannou to put a very low number on their fight ending in a fatality, so he interjected by shouting ‘Really?’ before the Cameroonian knockout artist continued to explain his point.

He added: “Basically, a man that is prepared. A man that is trained and well-conditioned to endure that situation. The man has been stimulating that position for a long time.

“Of course, if you are trained, it is different. If you are not trained, it’s different.

“You might not die but you might end up in the hospital.”

In the end, Morgan agreed with Ngannou’s prediction for their hypothetical fight ending with him needing immediate medical attention.

He said: “I think that’s highly likely, yes.”

Morgan’s surprise reaction to Ngannou admitting he’d struggle to kill him was probably because he’s watched him putting people to sleep in the UFC for years.

The 38-year-old has a glittering CV chocked full of elite-level fighters who suffered scary knockout losses when they squared off against him in the Octagon.

Ngannou was even able to drop Tyson Fury in his October 2023 boxing debut.

Unfortunately, things didn’t go quite as well when he fought Anthony Joshua a few months later, but he still walked away a winner after earning millions of pounds.

Ngannou will return to MMA for his PFL debut in Saudi Arabia on October 19.

Renan Ferreira, a 6ft 8in Brazilian KO merchant, will welcome him back to the cage for the first time since he outpointed Ciryl Gane to defend his UFC heavyweight title in January 2022.

Morgan will just be thankful that he’ll never find out just how quickly Ngannou could hurt him in a fight.
