Frazer Clarke feared the worst after being brutally knocked out by Fabio Wardley on Saturday night.
The Burton boxer was caught with a massive right hand in the opening stanza of their heavyweight clash, which left him with a dent in the side of his head.

It was later revealed that he had fractured his jaw – although Clarke was concerned more severe damage had been done in the moment.
talkSPORT’s Spencer Oliver caught up with the 33-year-old at the airport after his fight and revealed the Brit was considering his future following the crushing defeat.
“He said when he got hit with that shot he remembered that it was like a bomb going off in his head,” Oliver revealed during the most recent episode of talkBOXING, which will be released on the talkSPORT boxing YouTube channel at 8pm.
“He said, ‘I felt like my face caved in so I rubbed my glove on it and I felt an indent then I started thinking about my kids and my wife’.
“Me and him are good friends and he was talking about my situation and he said, ‘I thought I was going through what you went through with a bleed on the brain.
“He said it was a noise he had never heard before because the force of the punch was insane and he said, ‘I’ve got a young family, I’m going to have to go home and think about it.’
“Whatever he chooses to do, he is a great guy Frazer and he was gracious in defeat…
“But with all that has gone on there for Frazer, I’m not sure where that leaves him long-term.
“It was because of the damage inflicted on his face, I’ve not seen that before.
“He could be a pundit, he’s a great character, great talker, everybody loves him.

“But getting back into a ring again, I’m not sure I’ll ever see that again to be honest.
“As a fighter, they are gladiators. If you have a seed of doubt creeping in then you are in the wrong place.”
Clarke underwent successful surgery in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Sunday to repair his damaged cheekbone and jaw.
The injury is anticipated to take between six and eight weeks to recover from.
And luckily for Clarke, there was no need to fit a metal plate in his jaw.
“He said when I spoke to him that he was fine and that they had operated on him,” Oliver added.
“He said Turki Alalshikh got the best surgeon in Saudi Arabia to get out of his bed and operate on him straight away.
“And they went in through the cheek and pushed his cheek back in so they didn’t have to fit a metal plate. Unbelievable, the medical attention he received was second to none.”
